UNIST (Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology) was established in 2009 and is a rapidly growing institute in South Korea under a unique and vibrant research atmosphere. The official language on campus is English and many world-leading scientists regardless of their nationalities have been recruited and are still being searched for to accomplish the institute’s mission.
The Mathematical Sciences track in the School of Natural Science at UNIST is also implementing the institute’s active faculty recruitment program to seek outstanding mathematicians in both pure and applied mathematical research fields.
At least one tenure-track position for each of the following two categories is available:
- Geometry / Topology / Algebra including, but not limited to, Number Theory, Algebraic Geometry,
- Applied and Computational Mathematics.
Priority will be given to those candidates who: (1) show the potential to carry out research of exceptional quality at UNIST; (2) complementing existing strengths in the Mathematical Sciences track; (3) have a demonstrated commitment to high quality teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Appointments will be made at the assistant professor level. However, exceptional candidates could be considered at higher ranks. Candidates for associate/full professor positions should indicate their preferences.
To apply for a position, candidates should upload at Mathjobs.org the following:
- 1) a Cover Letter indicating the research field category in which one wants to be considered,
- 2) a Curriculum Vitae including a list of publication and a picture of yourself.
Applications received by November 5th will be given full consideration. However, applications will be received until positions are filled. Potential candidates will be contacted individually for submitting further material to the institute’s faculty recruitment site.
