Title: Some energy methods for viscous conservation laws

Abstract: Through some typical Cauchy problems in the field of viscous conservation laws, this short course aims to introduce several elementary energy methods which provide "a priori" estimates for the global existence in time and asymptotic behavior of solutions.

The lecture series consists of five lectures:

- Lecture 1 (14:00 - 16:00, April 20): Global asymptotic stability of constant states for the generalized Burgers' equation
- Lecture 2 (14:00 - 16:00, April 21): Asymptotic stability of viscous shock waves for the generalized Burgers' equation
- Lecture 3 (14:00 - 16:00, April 25): Global asymptotic stability of constant states for an isothermal/isentropic model of viscous gas
- Lecture 4 (14:00 - 16:00, April 26): Asymptotic stability of viscous shock waves for an isothermal/isentropic model of viscous gas
- Lecture 5 (14:00 - 16:00, April 27): Asymptotics toward rarefaction waves, and some final remarks
